About PackShrink

PackShrink is a barcode-scan app and public database built to show how a product's package size has changed against its price over time. We turn scattered shelf evidence into a clear, source-linked record.

Our methodology combines retailer product listings, historical net weight and price observations, submitted label photos, OCR, and UPC or GTIN changes. Every comparison should identify its evidence and date range, distinguish facts from interpretation, and remain open to correction when stronger records appear.

The goal is not merely to identify a smaller box. PackShrink also explains the operational context behind pack changes, including pack configuration economics, minimum order quantities, cost-to-serve, and tariff pass-through. That makes the index useful to consumers, media, researchers, CPG teams, and retailers alike.
